The CommuterLink system is currently undergoing some changes that have temporarily disrupted our ability to put high-quality camera images on the web site. Due to work on our computer and software systems that capture a snapshot from the video cameras, some camera views on the web site appear to be too bright and overexposed.
UDOT is now in the process of converting all of our cameras to digital transmission, which will resolve the problem of the overexposed images. As of April 15, 2008, over 300 of our 440 cameras are now digital. We expect the conversion of all cameras to be complete by the end of June, 2008, which will fully resolve the problem of the poor images.
Some of you have seen this popup: "A script on this page is causing Internet Explorer to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?" This is because some browsers have issues with the java script. We are in the process of rewriting the website, which will address this issue.
We apologize for any inconvenience that these may cause and thank you for your patience.
