Solar Eclipse

Idaho and Wyoming

Monday August 21st, there will be a total solar eclipse with complete solar coverage in parts of Idaho and Wyoming. Due to their proximity with Northern Utah, several State Routes into both states are anticipated to be inundated with spectator travel from Friday August 18th through Tuesday August 22nd

All spectators planning to view the full event within the path of totality should plan on extreme amounts of travel time in order to arrive early at their planned destination. Once the event has completed, traffic leaving viewing areas is anticipated to be extraordinarily congested. Motorists are advised to plan accordingly by making sure vehicles and passengers are prepared for extended travel times and conditions.

Oversize load restrictions will also be in place in Idaho and Wyoming beginning Sunday.

Operators are advised to plan routes accordingly.
